Democracy of Elites
VIP-culture and red-tepism have vigorously became the part of elite section in India . 70 years'
passage can be denounced for the protection as well as it's nurture .
Current government has taken some necessary step to combat it.
Removing beacon from the car of officials and leaders was one of such
steps . Apart from that timely reporting to the office , time driven tasks and
outcome based promotion in ministry as well as bureaucracy were some other steps .
Prime Minister does not provokes such
tradition but but he is unable to stop other members of his party and
alliances from doing the same . There are almost 30 category of VIPs for the concession in security checks on the airports . It was burning example of the very tradition when an MP of Shiv Shena
threatened a 60 years old employ of Air India with slippers . The MP
should have been fired from the party for doing so . But irony is that
Shiv Shena threatened to create obstacles in the service of Air India
. And the Center directed Air India to remove the name of the MP from
it's 'NO-FLY' list . Prime-minister was silent on whole episode .
Our judiciary is not so different .
According to former CJI Deepak Mishra , there are about 3.3 crore
pending cases in various courts of India . In such situation , courts
are aspect-ed not to interfere in administrative matters and to
concentrate on giving justice . But last week Madras High Court
directed to National Highway Authority of India to make a separate que for VIPs on toll-gate . It is obvious that judges of courts also
lie under these VIPs . The court told it unfortunate to wait 10-20
minutes .
Yes , no want to wait unnecessary on
road but why the court want the segregation of their judges from common
man . This order by the court clearly shows VIP – mindset , which
has become the part of DNA of ruling class of India . The act is
opposite to the definition of democracy given by Abraham Lincoln . Our
democracy is the government by elite , of elite and for elite .
